Spa 2023 - Saturday report

Clio Cup :

Q1 : Our Saturday kicked off under the beautiful weather of Spa. First Qualifying session took place at midday and saw David Pouget set the third place of a 59 cars grid. Alexandre Albouy found some good pace and secured P7.

In the challengers cup, Alex Finkenstein almost managed to top the session but still set the second fastest time while Mariano Alonso started race 1 from P12.

In the racers cup, Benjamin Cauvas started the first race in P7 and Gabriele Alonso in P20.

Race 1 : Giving the incredible number of cars, first race of the weekend started with a rolling start. David Pouget had a great start from P3 and managed to put pressure on Alessandro Brigatti. On lap 5, David overtook him and quickly closed the gap with Gabriele Torelli in P1. On the last lap, David overtook him around the outside. Sadly, he locked up on the last corner and ended P2.

Alexandre Albouy started from P7 and after a strong race he crossed the line in P8.

Alex Finkenstein, who was starting from P4, had a great battle with Alessandro Brigatti. Both had a contact on lap 5 but Alex still managed to finish P2 of the challengers cup. Mariano Alonso had a contact with the wall on top of Raidillon at the lap 4 and therefore DNF.

In the Racers cup, Benjamin Cauvas had to DNF while Gabriel Alonso ended P20.
